Unusual guest house in the middle of Bangkok

We stayed in the Phranakorn Nornlen guesthouse on for 3 nights on August 2012 With 2 kids ages 15 and 10.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay!
We have been to many hotels around the world and this one is definitely among the unique ones. It is not a 5 star hotel so do not expect bathrobes and little soaps in the shower (no tub), but it is extremely clean, very comfortable and by far the hotel with the nicest staff we have ever met. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! You can feel they invest a lot of thought and care in every detail. There is a great atmosphere in the courtyard where you can rest, read a book and have good coffee. On the roof there is a nice bar with great basil mujito and a relaxing atmosphere. They gave us very good advice about travelling around Bangkok and the proximity to the water taxi makes travelling around very easy.
Our flight was at 06:00 so we had to drive to the airport at 03:00 A.M. they helped us arrange a taxi, and to our surprise one of the staff was in the reception at the time to make sure all is well and to give us the sandwiches they made for us . we were not expecting that and were very very touched!!!! The sandwiches by the way were great and very tasty.

We warmly recommend this hotel and for sure if we return to Bangkok will stay there again
